چکیده

Tight sandstone possesses multiscale pores. Capturing and modeling the important pore properties into a network for drainage is challenging computationally expensive. We present method of network, which enables us to handle huge rock micro computed tomography (μCT) images with high computational efficiency minimal experimental input data. This uses micro-links represent upscaled transport micropores unresolved by image connects clusters that have topological relationships in extract connected from it. The size distribution optimized determined permeability. effects number on flow are investigated obtain robust parameter. presented validated digital core published successfully applied rapidly evaluate influence mineral components behavior two tight rocks, involves large computations. μCT both contain more than 109 voxels handled personal computer, proving potential rapidly, accurately, conveniently handling evaluating characteristics.

A 2d Dynamic Pore Network Model for Modeling Primary Drainage

We present a dynamic network model to investigate the effects of capillary number and viscosity ratio on displacement patterns and fractional flow in primary drainage. This model predicts the events that are observed in the micro-model experiments, such as swelling of the wetting layers and the meniscus oscillation. Interfaces are tracked through the pore elements using a modified Poiseuille eq...

Pore Structure and Limit Pressure of Gas Slippage Effect in Tight Sandstone

Gas slip effect is an important mechanism that the gas flow is different from liquid flow in porous media. It is generally considered that the lower the permeability in porous media is, the more severe slip effect of gas flow will be. We design and then carry out experiments with the increase of backpressure at the outlet of the core samples based on the definition of gas slip effect and in vie...

Sensitivity Analysis of the Effect of Pore Structure and Geometry on Petrophysical and Electrical Properties of Tight Media: Random Network Modeling

Several methodologies published in the literature can be used to construct realistic pore networks for simple rocks, whereas in complex pore geometry formations, as formed in tight reservoirs, such a construction still remains a challenge. A basic understanding of pore structure and topology is essential to overcome the challenges associated with the pore scale modeling of tight porous media. A...

Pore structure characterization of Chang-7 tight sandstone using MICP combined with N2GA techniques and its geological control factors

Understanding the pore networks of unconventional tight reservoirs such as tight sandstones and shales is crucial for extracting oil/gas from such reservoirs. Mercury injection capillary pressure (MICP) and N2 gas adsorption (N2GA) are performed to evaluate pore structure of Chang-7 tight sandstone. Thin section observation, scanning electron microscope, grain size analysis, mineral composition...
